Paul Field

The Wiggles - Managing Director

Paul is one of seven children. His mother Marie always said that “learning to play a musical instrument is as important as learning to read and write.” And so all of the Field family were taught to play music; the foundation stone of Paul’s career in the entertainment industry.

Paul brings over 40 years of experience in entertainment to his role as Managing Director of The Wiggles. In recent years he has successfully managed the re-structure of the company, the launch of a new Wiggles era and placement of The Wiggles latest TV series in over 190 countries. He has worked on over 17 TV series and 45 video specials, producing artists such as rock legend John Fogerty, Pop Princess Kylie Minogue, La Bamba star Lou Diamond Phillips, and local music icons, Slim Dusty, Jimmy Barnes and Kasey Chambers.

In 2008, Paul was elected as a member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, was a judge in the International Emmy Awards and has been a judge for all categories of the ARIA awards for the last 18 years. He wrote the documentary “Everybody Clap, Everybody Sing” and helped produce “The Wiggles Exhibition” at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum, which has been seen by over 600,000 people.

Following the tragic death of his daughter Bernadette in 1988 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, Paul organised the Cradle Rock concert and since that time, many TVC’s and promotions for Red Nose over the 31 years since. Further to this, he is an ambassador for Soldier On, and has done similar work for St Vincent de Paul Society, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Red Cross, Jesuit Social Services, Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation, Action Aid, UNICEF, as well as organising the UNICEF concert to raise money for sanitation facilities and clean water in five villages in East Timor.

He recorded four albums and was awarded Gold and Platinum album status as the singer for The Cockroaches during the 1980’s and in 2011 he released an album The Field Brothers, 1964 with his brother John, which charted in the top ten of the Australian Country Music Charts, and later released their 2nd album Every Day is Like an Elvis Movie!

Prior to his success as a musician, Paul studied at the Australian Catholic University and taught in high schools, then worked for three years at the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He was appointed as a member of the Investigations Team at The Royal Commission into the New South Wales Police Service. Following this, having worked informally with The Wiggles since their inception, he became The Wiggles Manager.

Paul wrote a book titled Gimme Shelter, which was published in by Echo Press in 2017. He tells the deeply personal and often hidden stories of 16 special men and women, including Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq war veterans, peacekeepers, first responders and relatives, whose greatest struggle has been the return to everyday life after service or dealing with the loss of loved ones who lost their lives in service. (“Thoughtful and deeply observed”. Genevieve Jacobs, ABC Radio Canberra) (“Profoundly moving”. Cheryl Akle, Better Reading) (“An inspirational and personal insight into the enduring struggle and the victories of these heroes”. David Craig, AFP Detective Superintendent (ret) Counter Terrorism Command.

According to Paul, the thing of most significance to him is his marriage of 34 years to his wife Pauline and their children Luke, Bernadette, Clare, Joseph and Dominic.
